This was the year when I learned what it felt like to win a Reserve Ticket at Crufts. Wonderful! It was a bolt out of the blue and although Loosha (Sarawana Zemni) went on to become a champion, no win was ever as special as this one. It will live on in my memory forever. Thank you Caroline!

We now had a total of 27 Shows where CC’s were allocated for the breed.

The new shows were;
Bournemouth (Bournemouth, England)
Richmond (England)

Judges: 18 Breed Specialists; 8 All Rounders; 2 Foreign Judges;

Breed Specialists who judged the breed for the first time this year were:
Penny Evans (Mikalya), Diane Gale (Orlov),
Krystyan Greenland (Rajarani), Beryl MacCallum (Kichika),
Linda Pritchett (Mapletree)

There were 9 Champions crowned in 1995 (Total Breed Champions 49)

The dog with the most Challenge Certificates was Luxmoore’s Ch Zima Toaki with 23. From this date onwards Toaki held the title of CC Record Holder in the breed. He died in 2002 With 33 CC’s to his name.
This has yet to be beaten.....

This was also the year in which I started to become interested in the Show Champions of the breed. I decided to compile an illustrated book of all 49 Breed Champions along with other bits and bobs and a complete list of all the dogs sitting on Tickets and Reserve Tickets up until December this year. I had never sat at a computer before in my life but I went to a local library where I could use the computer for a couple of hours at a time and basically taught myself. The book was the guinea pig. Looking back it was a torturous affair and now that I know about Publisher etc. I laugh at just how I typed out this book. The lady at the resource centre tried to show me Publisher, but it scared the living daylights out me, text and boxes shooting about all over the place!! Oh no! So I plodded on and was very proud with the end result (at the time). The book finally got published and proved very popular! I still have a few copies lurking about in the cupboard, so if anyone feels they would like one, just let me know. They are £11.00 plus P & P.
