Hot on the heels of Beannie, other newcomers to the breed imported American Show type Siberian Huskies and these dogs were also eventually crowned Champions. It became obvious this year that there was a large divide in the breed; those in favour of the American Show Type and those who considered them to be a poor example of the breed. However, rightly or wrongly, the American Show dog was here to stay and in the following years the progeny of these dogs would also go on to win Tickets in the UK.

This year, Fitzpatrick’s Alascotia’s Michigan won Working Group 4 at the S.K.C. Under Breed Judge, Anne Marie Kolbe & Group Judge Jean Collins.

Brent’s Dreamcatcher’s The Wizard also won working Group 4 at Three Counties Show under Breed Judge Terry Thorn & Group Judge, Andrew Thomson.

Livingstone’s UK/Am Ch Solocha’s Southern Legacy won the following;
Working Group 2 at Border Union
(Breed Judge, Georgia Lawrence; Group Judge, John McManus)
Working Group 4 at Blackpool
(Breed Judge, Gerald Mitchell; Group Judge David Cavill)
Working Group 2 at Working & Pastoral Breeds Of Scotland
(Breed Judge, Beau Lundstrom; Group Judge, unknown)

With the return of WELKS and Windsor we were back to our quota of 27 shows where the breed could win Challenge Certificates.
